What is a Closed Eye Bolt?

Closed Eye Bolt, also know as “Turned Eye Bolt”, is a bolt with a threaded shaft at one end and a loop at the other end that resembles the eye. They are made by bending a bar with nominal thread size into a ring shape. They are intended to and constructed to allow movement in the attached component. They are intended for light duty applications like tie-downs and wire guiding but are not designed for lifting as heavy loads can cause the eye to open.(source)
